Sphalerite and Calcite

Showy, well-formed, jet-black Sphalerite crystals up to 16 mm, beautifully scattered on the sculptural matrix of honey-yellow Calcite. The Calcite itself is superb, consisting of scores of upright sgharp, dog-tooth crystals. This is excellent and classic, old-time material from the famous Joplin Field. Scattered under the Calcite are microcrystals of brassy Chalcopyrite, further adding to the interest of this specimen.
