White, fibrous crystals of Palygorskite together with other accessory minerals. The specimen is very hard to photograph, but in this one, the paper-like Palygorskite is easily observable. Palygorskite is a remarkable mineral in that the fibrous crystals form mats, which are highly flexible and can be folded and bent. Thanks to its resemblance, Palygorskite is often called "mountain leather." A very nice example of an unusual and rare mineral.
