Aragonite on Calcite

Rounded mamillary protrusions of Calcite covered with a thin layer of Aragonite. The latter has an attractive adamantine luster and a few of the tips are coloured by iron oxides. These types of specimens are sometimes called "Cave Calcite." Specimens of this quality and abundance of undamaged treminations are rare.
